Fostering the Trade

The purpose for the NMBA scholarship is to foster the residential building trade’s future in Northern Minnesota by providing financial assistance for students pursuing a career in this field.

There Are FOUR - $1,000 Scholarships Available

Scholarship-Opportunities

NMBA Scholarships are available through the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation website.

Applications are accepted from January 1 – March 1

All students, both traditional and nontraditional, are encouraged to apply as there is a wide variety of scholarships available:  academic, vocational, technical, certifications.

One Application

Complete and submit one application to be considered for all scholarships at the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation.

Qualifying Building Trades

Students interested in applying must meet one or more of the following requirements:

  • A graduating high school senior from one of the regional listed schools who is planning to attend a Minnesota post-secondary school for a building trade career.
  • Non-traditional students entering a Minnesota post-secondary school for a building trade career.
  • A member of the NMBA or the dependent of a member who is planning to attend a Minnesota college of vocational school to pursue a career in the building trades.

High School Tech Classroom Grants

The NMBA has partnered with The Builders Group to offer grants to NMBA area High School Tech classrooms.  Funds are credited at local lumberyards to supply the classroom with materials and equipment they need to foster the trades.
